Sanctified Hunger is the second album from GIO, the gothic rock concept project built around the immortal narrator Giordano Paulo Orsini, born Umbria 1458, still watching.

The album's thesis is simple and its evidence is five hundred years long. Religious institutions do not serve faith. They consume it, converting genuine belief into compliance, devotion into leverage, and doubt into something to be punished. GIO has watched this pattern repeat across every century since Florence. He is watching it accelerate now.

Twelve tracks are structured across three acts. The Observer establishes the thesis from the outside, the trained perspective of someone who has outlasted every empire built on divine authority. The Wound is where the distance collapses, the origin trauma surfaces, the fifteen-year-old boy condemned by the man who raised him bleeding through five centuries of detachment. The Reckoning closes the record with warning and, underneath the warning, the only truth worth stating: no permission required, no intermediary needed, the choice was always yours.

Musically, Sanctified Hunger sits firmly in the Sisters of Mercy tradition. Guitar-driven and atmospheric, restrained rather than theatrical, built for the kind of anthemic delivery that does not require irony to land. Every chord progression reversed from goth classics.
